IdentityI have more than 39 years of overseas experience in teaching English in Ethiopia, Yemen, and Libya. I was the Head of the Department of English in the Faculty of Education, Waddan, Sirte University, Libya for 13 years. I have taught various subjects like Creative Writing, Comparative Literature, Poetry, Drama, Introduction to Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Morphology, Phonetics and Phonology, Syntax, Discourse Analysis, Psycho-linguistics, Computer Assisted Language Learning, Research Methodology, Curriculum Planning and Syllabus Design, Second Language Acquisition, etc. I have supervised more than 100 research paper projects of students on literary, linguistic and educational subjects. In addition to the usual official duties, I have organized extra-curricular activities like study tours, publishing students' magazines, debates on academic and non-academic subjects, quiz competitions and the essay, short-story, and elocution competitions. I was a Member of the Curriculum Committee of English for Libyan Universities from 2010 to 2016, and I have prepared teaching materials for various academic courses. Five of my Ph.D. advisees have successfully completed their research work, and there are four Ph. D. scholars working under my guidance now in the Wolaita Sodo University, Ethiopia. I was a member of the Editorial Committee of 'Damota', the Wolaita Sodo University Publication for five years. I have started my online YouTube videos, English_with_Sivadas_Madhavan”, on ELT, Linguistics and various Research topics since 7th February, 2022. I receive compliments from students and scholars from different universities for my paper “The Research Philosophy: An Overview” which was published online.
