Dear Deepshikha,
Fullerenes are the allotropic form of Carbon. They contain cyclic rings of 5 membered and six-membered carbons in a ball structure. Hence, it also named Buckminsterfullerene (Like a football).
Carbon is SP2 hybridised in these compounds containing C60 number of carbons.
It is different from other allotropes of Carbon, namely Diamond and Graphite.
Diamond contains SP3 carbons, where the tetrahedral carbons are connected, forming a giant structure.
Graphite contains SP2 carbons, where the carbons in the hexagonal cyclic ring layers will be separated from one another with 3.8 Angstrom units distance apart.
