Hi this is Prasanna .When I first started teaching I was overwhelmed and felt isolated like an island in the sea. I would lie awake in bed the night before wondering if a new lesson was worthy or not or if I even knew what I was doing. There were many flops with my new ideas but I reflected and used these moments to become a better teacher. I took a couple years but my confidence and routines slowly became more comfortable. The overwhelmed feelings I felt before disappeared as my experience allowed me to process and make quicker decisions. If you’re reading this and just starting learning it’s important to remember that you are not alone I am here to help you. I teach people of all ages who have the passion to learn art.
My philosophy for learning is that everyone is unique. One of my jobs as a teacher is to help you discover his or her individuality and work alongside them to maximize it. I believe in hands-on experiences and learning in creative ways, both individually and in groups. It is my goal to guide my students as a community of learners, who are dedicated to working hard and having fun. My students make progress through honoring an atmosphere of respect, responsibility and safety. I want my students to feel confident that they can apply what they’ve learned in art class to real-life situations, and to develop an appreciation for the arts and to understand the reciprocal impact the arts have on them and they have on the arts.
