C is still very popular in embedded systems programming and operating systems because of its flexibility and versatility, that enable maximum control with minimal commands. It is easy to learn, and one can find many tutorials, free MOOC courses, and apps online for the same. Currently, in the era of machine learning, two programming languages, which are very popular and should be learnt, are Python and R.
