IdentityFor the past eight years, I’ve dedicated my life to teaching dance in the vibrant cultures of Nepal and India. Each day begins with the pulse of music reverberating through the studio, a familiar melody that signals the start of another journey.
My students range from eager children, eyes wide with excitement, to adults seeking a new passion. With styles spanning hip-hop, Bollywood, and house, each class is a blend of energy and creativity. I remember a particularly memorable moment when a shy girl stepped onto the floor, her feet hesitant but her spirit bold. By the end of the session, she transformed, radiating confidence as she mastered her first hip-hop routine.
Teaching in these diverse environments has allowed me to weave together stories through movement. I often encourage my students to express their emotions through dance, creating a space where they can explore their identities. Each performance becomes a celebration of their growth, an expression of their unique stories.
Every class is a reminder of why I love this art form—its ability to connect people, to transcend language and cultural barriers, and to create lasting bonds. Through dance, I've not only taught skills but also cultivated a community that thrives on passion and creativity.
