As a successful math teacher,I have an extensive knowledge of mathematics. I have taken multiple courses in algebra, geometry, statistics, calculus and other areas of mathematics at the college level and, possibly, even the graduate level. This knowledge allows me to confidently explain concepts and processes to my students. This confidence boosts my credibility and helps the students to trust my ability to teach them what they need to know. There are multiple ways to solve problems and I use those alternate strategies to help struggling students to grasp difficult concepts.My aim in teaching is to engage students and help them feel confident in their mathematical abilities. I ,as a facilitator of learning, provide students with the knowledge and tools to solve problems and then encourage students to solve them on their own. When students answer a problem incorrectly, I do not allow them to quit. I encourage students to figure out where they went wrong and make them to workout the problem until they get the correct answer, providing support and guidance where needed. Encouraging and fostering intellectual curiosity in the field of Mathematics. Undertaking a designated programme of teaching across all Key Stages. Maintaining appropriate student attainment records. Marking and grading the work of pupils. Keeping an eye out for students who are struggling and giving them extra attention. Promoting the learning of Mathematics through out of hour activities. Teaching Maths to groups of students from a wide range of social backgrounds.
