Every Company other than one person Company must hold one meeting in a year, and that meeting is called Annual General Meeting(AGM). The notice of such meeting shall specify that it is a notice for AGM. The gap between two AGM should not exceed 15 months.
The first AGM should be held within a period of 9 months from the closing date of the 1st financial year of the Company. After that within six months from the date of closing of the financial year.
The Registrar of Companies has the power to extend the time of holding AGM by three months but not FIRST AGM.
Every Annual General Meeting should be called during business hours ( 9 a.m to 6 p.m)and on a day which is not a National Holiday.
AGM of a Company should be held at the Registered office of Company or within the city, where the Registered office of Company is situated.
