This course is specifically taught for the following branches with slightly different names and slight variations in the syllabus prescribed, ECE/EEE and CSE, of various universities.
This course is meant for students doing there btech course in the third semester.Â
The main objective of this course is to develop the skill of analysis and design of various analog circuits using discrete electronic devices as per the specifications. Students also get to know the practical applications of the devices and circuits they come across with and they shall also be trained to attempt problems that may help them to face university exams.
It is preferably good to have a knowledge of basic electronics which they have done in their 1st year as prerequisite to do this course.

An outline of the syllabus is follows:
High pass and low pass RC circuits, Differentiator, Integrator, Analysis of BJT biasing circuits, small signal analysis of transistor configurations using small signal hybrid Ï? model, low frequency and high frequency analysis of BJT amplifiers, Cascade amplifiers, Wide band amplifiers, Feedback amplifiers, Oscillators, Tuned amplifiers, Power amplifiers, Sweep circuits and multivibrators, transistor voltage regulator, DC analysis of MOSFET circuits, small signal equivalent circuit, Small signal analysis of MOSFET amplifier circuits, Analysis of multistage MOSFET amplifiers
