The course is a common subject between the engineering students of Chemical, Mechanical and Civil streams. By enrolling for this course, the students will be benefitted towards learning the theoretical aspects as well as the practical application of the concepts of Fluid Mechanics in their respective fields. Continuous assessment will improve their understanding and logical analysis thereby strengthening their skills. Interactive animations and on-site videos are an added advantage. This course will provide the student with a basic understanding of fluid properties, fluid statics and dynamics, and fluid flow. The flow of incompressible fluids in pressure systems constitutes the major portion of this course. The course consists of following topics:
- Chapter 1 – Fundamental Concepts Of Fluid Flow
- Chapter 2 – Fluid Statics
- Chapter 3 – Kinematics Of Fluid Flow
- Chapter 4 – Dynamics Of Fluid Flow
- Chapter 5 – Laminar And Turbulent Flows
- Chapter 6 – Pipe Flow Systems
- Chapter 7 – Dimensional Analysis
- Chapter 8 – Navier- Stokes Equations And Applications
- Chapter 9 – Boundary Layer Theory And Applications
