Flute

"When a sincere search was on for somebody to come inspire, Rushed along a skillful teacher whose passion was equally on fire! He readily accepted me as one of his students to be taught, Only to realize that such a rare gift couldn't I have ever sought! He is ever so polite, frank 'n friendly with a good sense of humour, I came to know that he's a Maestro, am sure it ain't just a rumour! We've had so many sessions together, it has really been so much fun, All that I extend in return is a kudos thanking him on a job well done! His songs have a touch of mysticism, They truly have some power, If only the bees had straws, they'd sip his music 'n disturb not the flower! But I join them along with the rest of Mother Nature to solemnly salute, For out of those that had made me cry, topping the list is Sriharsha's flute! Thanks a lot! :) Pratap"

Flute

"I started learning flute in 2007 (learnt for about 2 months :-) ) but could not continue for various reasons. Reason 1 - Lack of practice As we advance the complexity grows and this is when we need to dedicate time and practice. As I said that I am a working proffesion, I could not spend enough time practicing. Reason 2 - Distance of the music school from my house (though it doesn't matter but coupled with lack of practice distance started look longer and longer). Reason 3 - I got stuck at a particular level and could not proceed further due to lack of practice. This made me bunk classes. Reason 4 - Travel. My second innings of flute started in 2012 again!!!! Yes, after a long gap of 5 years. I started learning flute from Shri. Sriharsha. Second innings is a different experience. I have made it a point to practice flute regularly. Playing flute is more like meditation for me now. It has become a stress buster. Best part is that I have something new to learn every class. My teacher keeps it simple and makes the learning process enjoyable. Whenever I am stuck at any point, my teacher suggest to mark the point of difficulty and proceed with the lesson. Teacher advices on spending more time on point of difficult, adopting to this will boost your confidence and you will not be stuck at one point. My class has a mix of student from all age groups and the way my teacher handle them is fantastic. I need not have to worry about travel any more as I can learn flute online. We tried out flute class online and it works!!! Its been an amazing experience so far. Guess I have found answer to above mentioned reason: 1 - Practice practice and practice. There is no substitute. 2 - Once you start prcticing distance vanishes :) 3 - Teachers advice and methodology works wonders. 4 - Online classes. Same learning experience. Regards Vijay Kumar (Vj)"
