The story of the cooked frog

Pawan Kumar
07/09/2020 0 0

This is the story of a scientific experiment they did with some frogs. It was to test their reflex reactions on heat, so they took one frog and they have thrown it in to hot water. It immediately jumped out as soon as it touched the hot water. So, then they lowered the temperature, and they have thrown him again inside, so it again immediately jumped out. So they repeated this experiment and every time they lowered the temperature of water a little bit, so on the end the frog remained in water.

Next part of experiment was they put the frog in one big glass container. The water in the container was very cold So the container had nice green leaves, nice humidity, etc. So the frog jumped into water and out, it was too cold, then when they increased the temperature the frog became happy Then when it was sitting in the water they increased the temperature of water and air. The frog still felt comfortable. They increased more and more so then the frog became nervous, it jumped in and out. The water and air became more hot. So the frog felt more distress and first was trying to find relief in the water and then outside on the air. So finally he was so exhausted that it just remained in water and was cooked to death.

The moral of this story is that when maya strongly attacks the devotees they react immediately, she may attack more and more but the devotee is able to react immediately again and again. So then sometimes maya is causing very heavy distress as the frog fell in the cold water and the devotee is trying to find some shelter, then maya is providing a nice environment for all kinds of material sense gratification.

Hmm, then we think actually I was fighting against maya, so let me accept just a little bit of maya, so that she will be happy and she will not push more, I am still a fixed up devotee and I am still chanting, I will only watch tv, some nice movies. Then I will also associate with some nice people and talk mundane topics since they are also devotees only they dont know yet. I will go to cinemas and disco, since there I can also met people for preaching, and I can still think of Krishna. When the lady sings:" I need you, I love you!" I will think she is singing this for Krishna, so no problem. I can eat some nice vegetarian food, pizza in restaurant or some nice cake. I eat all the years prasadam, and I am big devotee so I can offer also this to Krishna.

I will rather chant with taste then just 16 rounds mechanically. I will not be a beginner devotee and just look on sadhana, I will start to love Krishna. I will practice the spontaneous sadhana. I will read Radha Krishnas pastimes. Also here and there I can have some abominable activities since this is normal for a human.

Like this we feel very comfortable in the shelter maya is providing. The temperature of lust, greed, material desires is increasing and we are trying to satisfy them jumping here and there like the frog was jumping from water to the land. But the material energy is increasing her influence and so the bewildered devotee tries to find the shelter in so many material things. Due to attachement to material things and forgetfullness of his real shelter he suffers exceedingly. Completely bewildered of his purpose of life he starts to criticise his well wishers his spiritual master and the vaishnavas and the pure philosophy of Krishna Consciousness. He becomes more and more angry and cultivates the hatred towards those who want to help him. He rejects his guru and takes shelter of duplicity and insincerness. Finally the poor fellow finds his end cooked in the fangs of maya in the same way the frog was cooked due to his foolishness.
