Newspaper reading and Quality of life:
- Should we read a newspaper regularly? Does it help to improve our quality of life?
- Is it a waste of time?
- Robin Sharma warns against news addiction;
- He warns about the fact " Negative news sells".
There are four kinds of students:
1. Those who never read a newspaper;
2. Those who read a newspaper regularly with critical eye
3. Those who read some parts of newspaper regularly like sports news, political news, crime news;
4. Those who read only when there is a very important news:
I think every student should be a critical reader of a newspaper.
In this context,
I draw attention to a contest organized by TOI to encourage Newspaper reading among young students.
Suggestion for an exercise:
The contest is to make generation of discerning readers: to differentiate between fact and fiction
Obviously, Dr. ABJ Abdul Kalam was not motivated by one newspaper article.
For effectiveness of the notice, they have highlighted this aspect.
I encourage you to write a critical (both positive and negative) review of the cover page and the associated article.
