IdentityI have completed my graduation in Political Science from one of the top 5 colleges in the country, St. Xavier's College, (Kolkata) with an aggregate of 73% (distinction). I am currently pursuing my Masters's in International Politics, from the esteemed School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Back in 2017, I bagged the top spot as a district topper in humanities. (12th standard). Since my college days, I have been tutoring young minds, to further hone my overall teaching skills, as I aspire to be an academician one day. In the last four years, I have tutored 18 students in total. I have also been associated with an organization called the eVidyaloka through the United Nations Volunteer Programme, and have tutored bright young minds in the remotest corner of West Bengal, who unfortunately does not have the means to opt for formal education.
I consider myself a very patient person, with a calm presence of mind, something I feel is of tremendous importance when it comes to teaching young kids. Moreover, in the last three years of my teaching experience, I have experienced that kids have a totally different way of looking and perceiving the world around them, including the things they are being taught. Interesting would surely be an understatement to define that. The right kind of nurturing will go a long way in strengthening their future. That is why I always try to include their creative spirit in conjunction with formal education. And it has proved to be very effective, as the students feel heard during the entire teaching process. This encourages them to be involved more in the teaching-learning experience, where they feel confident enough to share their inputs, instead of blindly mugging up things. This boost in confidence in turn helps them to perform better in exams. Lastly, as I belong to a younger generation, my experience shows that young kids usually find it easier to gel with a teacher with a lower generation gap to them and are more vocal about their doubts and problems. And I do fit into all that criteria.
