Now apply the integration by parts by taking first function as log x and second function as1. The formula for Integration by parts is given as
∫f(x) g(x) dx = f(x) ∫ g(x)dx - ∫ (f'(x) ∫ g(x)dx) dx.
Where f(x) is the first function and g(x) is the second function.
f(x) = (logx) And g(x)=1
After putting the values in the formula.
∫ logxdx
=∫ (logx).1dx
=x logx - ∫ 1.dx
= x logx - x + c , where c is any constant.
Hence this is our general solution.
