IdentityI'm Dr Samuel George; having graduated M.B.B.S. and done my Internship at Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and General Hospital in 2022, I worked as a Non-Academic Junior Resident in Medicine Department at GMC Sindhudurg for one year until July 2023, passed P.L.A.B. 1 and P.L.A.B. 2( October 2023).
I work as a house officer in medicine.

Formal-
• I conducted several teaching sessions covering a lecture series on infectious diseases for medical students, nurses, nursing students, and other health professionals. ( audience number- 100)
• Conducted bedside clinics for 2nd-year Medical Degree students on the Cardiovascular and Nervous Systems. ( audience number- 15)
• Conducted Health Education Programmes in the community. ( audience no.- 50)
Informal-
- I taught a junior at my university the subject of medicine (cardiology, neurology, etc.) in the final year of her degree.
- I opened a YouTube channel and lectured on a deeper understanding of neurological signs.
- I have also taught many of my juniors E.C.G.- The basics, interpretation, normal and abnormal E.C.G.s. This includes a short ppt on E.C.G. Basics and Interpretation.
- I made an online manual for managing typical cases and topics encountered in the House Officer( FY2) post, keeping in mind the available resources. This includes- Ascites, MI, E.C.G., Electrolyte change management, and Acid-Base disorders.
Teaching methods-
In the lectures, I encourage the Reflective and Inquiry-based approach, which primarily involves self-reflection, evaluation, questioning the reason behind a fact, finding, etc. I also promote the integrated approach of integrating the foundation years subjects, such as physiology and anatomy, into the clinical subjects to better understand the topic/ case.
During bedside clinics, I have always encouraged direct patient interaction and subsequent reflection on the findings, interaction, etc., which serves as a reference point to teach the relevant topic.
