IELTS Overview
The IELTS (the International English Language Testing System) is recognized worldwide as a reliable test for testing the language skills of candidates who wants to study or work in countries, where English is the language of communication. The IELTS is managed by 3 partners, the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, the British Council and IDP Education Pty Ltd. The IELTS is conducted in 2 modules as below.
Academic Module
The Academic module is for candidates wishing to study at undergraduate or postgraduate leads and for those seeking professional registration
General Training Module
The General Training Module is for candidates wishing to enrol in vocational or training programs, for admission to secondary schools and for those wishing to migrate to an English Speaking Country like Australia, Canada, UK and New Zealand. The IELTS is offered up to 4 times in a month in more than 125 countries. A list of all test centers in each country and the test dates worldwide is available at www.ielts.org
Scoring Pattern Of IELTS:
Candidates are assessed on the basis of their performance in the test, using scores from 1 to 9 for individual sections of the test- Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Apart from this an overall score is also given.
