IdentityI am a French language teacher, with 18 years experience in teaching French in International schools in Singapore (at the secondary level and primary levels), as well as in India. I have taught at the Alliance Francaise de Pune and at school and college level in Pune. What I enjoy about teaching: What I love about teaching is that I am able to connect with my students immediately and ensure that they not only learn to speak and write effectively, but also are in the top-of-the class range.
My teaching style, skills and strengths : To ensure that my classes are always fun filled, I vary my lessons with listening, role-play, games , activities and writing assignments.
My relevant qualifications include a Masters degree in French and a CIDTT Diploma (Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers).
I have taught IGCSE,CBSE ,ICSE as well as IB Ab Initio levels.
I have written highly effective lesson plans, unit plans and assessments- designed to promote written and spoken skills and creativity.
Organizing and conducting exams was one of my responsibilities while on the school’s Examinations’ Committee. The school Culinary Arts Club I ran was consistently filled to capacity with students eager to try out their cooking skills!
What I learnt as a teacher: Attending several training programmes (both in-house and external) across different International schools in Singapore, taught me that no two students learn in the same way and that it is imperative to tailor one’s teaching according to the student’s learning style. To that end, I routinely use Powerpoint and the internet in class. With my proven track record (the May-June 2015 French IGCSE cohort from NPS International School Singapore had 16 A* and 2 A students of a class of 18 students), I can be a valuable addition to your list of tutors.
