Used to determine if process is stable or unstable
- Upper Control Limit [UCL] and Lower Control Limit [LCL] are set by process. These denote the statistical boundaries within which the process should operate to be considered stable.
- Upper Specification Limit [USL] and Lower Specification Limit [LSL] are provided by customer. These denote boundaries within which the process is considered to be capable (non-defective)
- Data variation between control limits are due to normal cause of variation while variation beyond control limits are due to special cause of variation.
