At the time of playing the piano, the pianists primarily focus on several key elements as follows;-

a) Sheet Music or Score: Pianists typically read sheet music or scores placed on a music stand in front of them. The notation on the sheet music tells them which notes to play, how long to play them, and other musical instructions such as dynamics, tempo, and expression markings.

b) Keyboard: Pianists constantly look at the keyboard to see which keys they need to press. Over time, experienced pianists develop muscle memory, allowing them to play without looking at their hands as much. However, they still glance at the keyboard to maintain accuracy and precision, especially during complex passages or when navigating across the keyboard.

c) Hand Position and Technique: Pianists pay attention to the position and movement of their hands and fingers. They ensure that their fingers are properly aligned and their hand movements are coordinated to produce the desired sound.

d) Pedals: Pianists may also need to monitor the pedals (usually there are two or three) located at the base of the piano. Pedals control various aspects of the piano's sound, such as sustain, softening, or damping, and pianists use them to add expression and depth to their playing.

e) Audience or Performance Environment: During performances, pianists may occasionally glance at the audience or the performance space, though their primary focus remains on the music and their technique.
