We all have stories in us: ones that we share and ones that we do not share—about us, about the world as we see it, about our relationships with others, about everything and anything.
This course is an invitation to pause and reflect and allow these stories to emerge onto the paper. It is open to anyone who wishes to tell their story - irrespective of whether you call yourself a writer or not, and especially if you do not.
We learn to look into our lives, mine for stories, play with words and form, read, and respond thoughtfully to each other's writing.
- Practice skills and craft through writing exercises
- In-depth strength based feedback
We work on one essay through the course from scratch to completion.
I am a writer and facilitator, and my work has been published in Tint Journal, Ochre Sky Stories, Open Dosa, Qissa Magazine, Yaari: A South Asian Anthology on Friendship, among others. I believe learning should center pleasure, joy, and fun, and allow space to both learn and bend rules. Come off to slow down, read a lot and write even more.
