About the Course:
Strength of Material or Mechanics of Solids is an important subject in the field of Civil and Mechanical Engineering. Understanding of this subject required to know how a material or a structural component will react when an external forces or moment is applied to it. The course will provide an introduction to mechanics of solids with it's application to science and engineering. It primarily concerned with the static and dynamic behaviour under external forces of engineering components and systems which are treated as infinitely strong and undeformable. Here we deal with the forces and motions associated with particles and rigid bodies.
