What is the course about? 

This course is to learning Kritis of Sri Ootthukkaadu Venkata Kavi.

Who is he?

Sri ootthukkadu venkata Kavi is an 18th Century poet and composer. He composed hundreds of compositions in Sanskrit, Tamil and Marathi of which over 500 are available. These were handed down from generation to generation by the descendants of the composer's brother's family.

His compositions on Lord Krishna are fascinating and include beautiful lyrical, rhythmic and structural variations. His kritis are truly rare gems and is not easy to find teachers who teach them.

Who can learn?

All the interested learners, with an intermediate level proficiency in vocal music.

How will the classes be conducted?  

Some basic information about the classes are listed below.

1. Each class will be of one hour duration
2. Classes will be held once a week for each batch
3. Each batch will have a maximum of 5 students.
4. Lyrics via PDF/web-link woul dbe provided to the students.
5. The classes would be conducted through one of the common online calling/conferencing platforms like Google meet/FCC, etc.
