Our founder Rukmini Devi (athai) raised Bharatanatyam to a puritan art form, divorced from its recently controversial past by "removing objectionable elements" mostly, the Sringara, certain emotional elements evocative of the erotic, such as hip, neck, lip and chest movements, thus evolved the Kalakshetra Style. This is the reason why Kalakshetra evolved to be one of the most austere styles of Bharatanatyam.
Kalakshetra style focuses on precise footwork, razor sharp lines, swift movements resulting in clean Nritta and dignified Abhinaya.
As a teacher, I aim to provide Live-teaching Results, though classes are taken online. I focus mainly on the the basic Adavus as I want the fundamentals to be strong. Students will be taught strong Basics and Nuances of Bharatanatyam with other related Topics.
