Welcome to English Phonics Class!
In this course, children will embark on an exciting journey to develop strong phonics skills, improve their spoken English, and build their vocabulary. Here's how the classes will be structured:
There will be 6 weeks of classes in total.
-
Oral Understanding and Sound Segmentation:
We will begin by focusing on how to break down words into individual sounds (phonemes). Children will learn the importance of sounds in words through fun activities and oral practice. -
Vocabulary Building with Pictures:
Using pictures, children will be encouraged to associate words with their meanings, thus expanding their vocabulary. This will help in improving their spoken English and understanding of everyday words. -
Conversational Practice:
We will engage children in simple conversations to practice their speaking skills. They will learn to express themselves confidently and understand basic conversations in English. -
Introducing Phonics and Double Sounds:
Children will be introduced to phonics, focusing on letter sounds and how they combine to form words. Special attention will be given to double sounds (like “ch,” “sh,” “th”) to improve pronunciation. -
Writing Practice:
Stage-wise handwriting practice will start with techniques on holding a pencil correctly. Children will practice writing letters, starting with easy ones, and gradually progressing to more complex letters, using a four-line English copy.
By the end of the course, children will have improved their spoken English, vocabulary, and phonics skills, along with better handwriting and letter formation.
