This course provides a basic outlay of topics ranging from Diffusion , Osmosis , Transpiration , Stuructures and functions of xylem and phloem , and importance of minerals .  In plants, the transportation of food and minerals is essential for growth and survival. Food, primarily in the form of sugars, is transported through the phloem, a tissue made of living cells. This process, known as translocation, moves nutrients from the leaves, where photosynthesis occurs, to other parts of the plant like roots, stems, and fruits. Minerals and water, on the other hand, are absorbed from the soil by the roots and transported via the xylem, a tissue composed of dead cells. This movement, driven by capillary action and transpiration, ensures that essential nutrients reach all parts of the plant. The coordinated functioning of the phloem and xylem enables plants to maintain their metabolic activities, grow, and reproduce, illustrating a complex yet efficient internal transport system that sustains life.
