The syllabus of this course includes

Interior of Earth, structure and temperature distribution; Age of the Earth, Earthquakes, Petrology, surface and groundwater, Mineralogy, weathering and sedimentation, Oceans.  

Basic earth sciences is not taught in schools. This is a disadvantage for the students to understand climate change related issues on the earth. Under the present scenario of global climate change and rise in temperature due to carbondioxide emissions a students shoud have a sound knowledge about the Earth and its environment. In many countries Earth Science is taught from B Sc level onwards. This is a set back for many students. 

Students taking this course will have a sound knowledge about the Earth on whch we live and will prepare to save the earth from urban pollution including water and at,osphetre. This course also gives knowledge about different sources of carbondioxide that is causing rise in global tmperatures and prepares mitigation strategies.
