Class 2: Understanding Color and Brush Techniques
Objective: Learn basic brush strokes and color mixing.
Color Theory:
Primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.
Warm and cool colors.
How to mix colors and create shades/tints.
Brush Techniques:
How to hold the brush.
Basic strokes: blending, dabbing, stippling, dry brushing, and layering.
Activity:
Create a color wheel and practice basic strokes on paper.
Class 3: Painting Simple Shapes and Textures
Objective: Introduce layering and texture creation.
Sketching Basic Shapes:
Practice drawing circles, squares, and triangles on the paper
Painting Shapes with Layers:
Apply base layers, wait to dry, and add details using layers.
Creating Textures:
Using brushes, sponge, or palette knives to add texture.
Assignment:
Paint a simple object (e.g., a fruit or a leaf) focusing on layers and texture.
Class 4: Light and Shadow (Shading Techniques)
Objective: Understand light source and how to add shadows/highlights.
Basics of Light and Shadow:
Identify light sources.
Create depth using highlights and shadows.
Activity:
Paint a 3D object (e.g., a sphere or a cube).
Class 5: Painting a Landscape (Part 1)
Objective: Start creating a simple landscape.
Planning the Composition:
Sketch a simple landscape (e.g., mountains, sky, trees).
Base Layer:
Paint the background (sky, ground).
Add gradients to the sky.
Class 6: Painting a Landscape (Part 2)
Objective: Complete the landscape.
Details and Final Layers:
