This class is specifically meant for students who are looking to learn how to write an academic/research paper. This class is meant for BA, MA, and PhD students. The class will start with how to choose a topic, moving to how to generate a research question and come up with a thesis statement, ending with how to create the outline of a good academic paper. The course will provide hands-on training in conceptualizing a research paper and writing it.

The six steps the course will focus on are:

Selecting a topic and developing a research question

Developing a thesis statement

Making a working bibliography

Collecting and evaluating information from bibliography 

Creating the outline of an academic paper

Writing the academic paper

As part of the course, the students will be trained to develop a research question and thesis statement during the course. The students will also be given feedback on paper they've written.
