ABOUT THE CLASS

You will learn about the various aspects of abstract (non-representational) art, while exploring the painting mediums of watercolor and acrylic paints. We will explore foundations of art and design, composition and color theory with every class, so that you can reflect on how effective some elements of art are to create something that truly sings.

SKILL COVERED

In this multi-section workshop, you will play with painting mediums such as watercolor and acrylic. You will work on a variety of surfaces like watercolor paper, canvas board, and canvas.

LEARNING GOALS

Students will improve their understanding of the foundations of art and design through critique and descriptive review. 

Students will build confidence in their art making, while still having the freedom to express themselves in new ways.

1. Acrylic colour kit
2. Various size paint brushes
3. Watercolor sheet/ any good quality paper
4. Colour mixing palette
5. Water container
6. Masking tape
7. A rag
