Section 15.2 – In this section, you’ll study what animal husbandry is all about and its significance in managing livestock. You’ll also learn how and why livestock production needs to be improved, what are the food requirements of dairy animals, what are the cattle related diseases, what is poultry farming and the cross-breeding programmes between Indian and foreign breeds. You’ll also acquire knowledge about ways of improving egg and broiler production, diseases suffered by poultry fowl, ways of improving fish production, what are marine and inland fish varieties and finally how bee-keeping is carried out for the production of honey and wax.
