Chapter 6 English Class 10 First Flight is The Hundred Dresses II. It is a continuation of the previous chapter The Hundred Dresses I. The story revolves around Wanda Petronski leaving her school and going to another place where they won’t be teased for their names.

Wanda is Polish, and her family members are immigrants from Poland. She was made fun of and teased because of her name and for being poor yet claiming to have a hundred dresses.

The chapter begins with Miss Mason, their lass teacher getting a letter from Wanda’s father in which it is stated that they will be moving to a bigger city, both his children won’t be attending the school anymore. They were moving to a bigger city as no one will be there to judge them for their names anymore. Miss Mason gets this letter when the rest of the children of Room no.13 are checking out the other drawings in the room. She is upset upon hearing this, and she tells the class what had happened. Upon hearing this Maddie is adamant on apologising to Wanda. Chapter 6 English class 10, First Flight is more of an epilogue to the previous chapter where we get to the aftermath of the previous chapter.

The story unfolds with Peggy and Maddie eager to apologising to Wanda for their behaviour after all they were her best friends. They rush to her house hoping they had not yet moved, but unfortunately, they are late and the family had already moved out. Maddie and Peggy were both very disturbed with Wanda moving, but Maddie was disturbed the most because she considered herself to be a coward for not standing up to the wrong that as being done to Wanda. She promised never to let any wrong happen to anyone in the future and vowed to stand up for them if such a situation arose. They knew she had forgiven them and that she did like them. She even mentioned in the letter that she has a whole new bunch of dresses lined up in her house.
