You can always look for better opportunities and better package. Try Software testing manual or automation which ever interests you.

I have 5 year of experience in android application development but never got much to work on it. As i have a good knowledge on core java , want to switch for automation testing and want to learn selenium tool. Will it be possible to switch and show my experience in testing for 5 yrs to crack testing interview?

You can definitely switch and your knowledge in core java will help you. You can learn selenium fast but do not put 5 yrs exp in selenium will be too much as you have not worked with it. Put some exp in manual and 1or 2 yrs in selenium .
