IdentityI have been teaching the Piano since 1990 to various students, and sending them for various graded exams with the Trinity College of Music London, TCL, the Associated Board of Royal School, ABRSM London, and recently started with the London College of Music LCM.
I teach one on one, and am totally dedicated to nurturing and furthering every individual's skill to the maximum. I believe that all of us have the potential to excel in piano playing, after all its not a brain surgery that we are looking at here. I impart with a well rounded musical education, that includes reading, writing and interpreting the language of music. I believe in motivating my students to do their best, they may not turn out to be concert pianists but they may have fond memories of my classes after they have finished learning with me and really enjoy and understand the music. They should be fine musicians in their daily lives!
With this ideology developing as I grew as a teacher my students almost always get a distinction in their playing exam (without stressing them out!) with one of them in the merit list, standing second in Mumbai for the Trinity Grade 3 exam last year.
Also to help me grow further as a teacher and feed my ideology, am currently doing the online course of Trinity Laban Teaching Musician Post Graduate Certificate called PGCERT in Piano Pedagogy.
It's the first time that Trinity College in collaboration with the Laban Conservatoire have taken this course abroad and online. Am happy to state that I belong to the first batch of teachers from Mumbai. It is an extensive course with a lot of exciting research in the relatively unresearched field of instrumental playing and teaching. All this just to further my knowledge and skills in my field.
