CAT as an entrance is conducted by IIM's and is a national level test. Every year around 2 lakh students appears for it.
A graduate or graduating student who is in final year is eligible for CAT. The graduation percentage should be 50% for general candidates and 45% for reserved category. This is the only criteria to appear for test.
CAT involves learning aptitude skills which is not taught in colleges. It basically consists of 3 sections viz. Quantitative ability which we generally call as Maths, Verbal ability which we generally call as English, and Logical reasoning & Data Interpretation.
The above syllabus is from school level subjects only so any graduate can sit for this exam like Commerce or Science or Arts.
