I got the opportunity to teach electronics subjects to university students that was my happiest moment of my life. Identification with this job title and the responsibility that comes with it very quickly made me love and appreciate my life. One of the most overwhelming and utterly enjoyable aspects of this job was getting to envision a course. After my first semester, I was genuinely bugged that I always had to be several steps ahead. A good teacher is putting in so much more effort than all the students put together! You don’t always have aha moments but if things go according to plan, that’s a win. In the beginning, I’d often get too caught up exploring a topic in myriad ways and then struggle to squeeze it all into an one hour class… and that was my learning. How to wade through information, find the interesting & important bits and fit it into a narrative while making it punchy! In my experience, I found that students have no problem working hard but they need to know that the work matters.
