How many years are required to prepare for the UPSC Prelims?

To be frank, We have known people cracking the prelims in 3 months' time and also the lots who couldn't clear it in years. It totally depends on how prepared are you. In general, given the current pattern, 6 months is suffice for the prelims.

How many years are required to prepare for the UPSC Prelims?
