Just select two edges and press F – a new face will be created between them, connecting them! But the fill tool is limited – if you want to bridge more than one edge at a time, it won't get you very far. That's where the Bridge Edge Loops tool comes in. read more

There is a Blender for Artists fork named bforartists. Then the stable release fork Blender. Then the Fluid Designer. Lastly the Mechanical Blender and UPBGE. ( Both seem to be abandoned or behind) Also the master and 2.8.

You should be able to do some very cool things with it. From what i can tell, for people who are already excellent traditional artists like you, blender is a very steep learning curve, and vice versa. For people who aren't as talented traditionally, sometimes 3d comes easier to them. read more
