I started learning the violin when I was six years old. Since then playing the violin has remained by single - most passionate interest throughout my life.
I passed out of Ali Akbar Khan Music College in 1965 and was awarded the 'Vadya Alankar' in 1965.
After my marriage I moved to Germany, I did my degree in Music with Duisburg University, Duisburg and did research in western classical violin.
Once I was back I worked in the academic world.
After retiring, I have been teaching in Saurabh Academy of Music, Kolkata, for the last 15 years.
I have played in many concerts in India and Germany, on Radio in India and Germany. I was interviewed by television in Germany as an violin expert on classical Indian music.

I teach both Indian Classical and Western Classical.
For Indian Classical, I am tied up with Chandigarh University and Bengal Music College. My students obtain their certificates / degree from these.
For Western Classical, I train my students for Trinity Music College and Royal School of Music.
My students have played in many concerts, Talent hunts, etc.
