Hi, y'all! I am a teacher of English language and literature, currently a Ph.D. student. I have been privately tutoring students in English since 2015. I have two degrees—B.A. English (Honours) and M.A. English, from Presidency University, Kolkata. I aim to provide a vibrant environment for my students by establishing personally meaningful mentor-mentee relationships with them, so that they may feel comfortable to enjoy the classes and feel interested in the subject they are studying. Being a teacher of English Literature, I make it a point to strongly ground my students in the social and economic reasons they are studying their texts, so that they can better meaningfully relate to it. I aim to not just equip my students with analytical skills to write answers to questions on stories or poems, but to provide them with tools of independent, critical thinking that would help them in the long run, in other subjects as well as in their future careers. Two of my ICSE students have secured 100/100 in English Literature, and 95% of my students to date have scored 95+ in English, in ICSE and ISC. At college level, one of my B.A. English students graduated with Honours, securing 62% marks (Calcutta University). I nurture my students with the aim to develop them into well-rounded, well-adjusted, vigilant thinkers. Thank you!
