I guess you are asking it for a long term perspective. Java would help you in the field of Android App Development, but Python helps you in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Web Development and many others.. Above that Python is much easier to learn than Java. I recommend learning both, but if I have to pick one Python would be the best pick according to me. Hope it helps.
