PROTONS:Protons are basically sub-atomic particles which are positively charged (+1) opposite to that of an electron. By checking the number of protons present in an element we can determine the atomic number of an element. NEUTRONS: Neutrons as the name says that it is neither positive nor negative. The particle has no electric charge, hence it is neutral.
