NISM-Series-VIII: Equity Derivatives Certification Examination
- Who is this course for?
Please refer to NISM Notification NISM/Certification/Series-I: CD/2009/1 dated May 11, 2009 and NISM/Certification/Series-I: CD/2011/01 dated December 20, 2011 (in the â??Circularsâ?? section). NISM has specified this examination to be the requisite standard for the approved users and sales personnel of trading members of currency derivatives segments of recognised stock exchanges.
The program is intended for corporate treasury professionals, derivatives traders and market risk managers, back and middle-office finance professionals working in product control or quantitative risk assessment, and professionals working in the asset management industry who need to know how to price and risk manage derivative securities.
What will the students learn in this course?
On successful completion of the examination the candidate should:
- Know the basics of the Indian equity derivatives market.
- Understand the various trading strategies that can be built using futures and options on both stocks and stock indices.
- Understand the clearing, settlement and risk management as well as the operational mechanism related to equity derivatives markets.
- Know the regulatory environment in which the equity derivatives markets operate in India.
Other than the course curriculum the students will hands on training on how these markets work in real life. There will also be practical tests to evaluate studentâ??s progress. There will also be sample / model question paper for practice.
