Dr. A Nandi, teaches Physics to students of classes XI and XII of C.B.S.E, I.S.C and W.B Boards. I offer both individual care and group tuition options. Preparation for BOARD EXAM is covered in regular classes. For AIPMT,JEE (Main),JEE (Advanced),WBJEE separate batches are formed. Primary Importance is given on fundamentals and building up of concepts and a crystal clear understanding of the subject. Adequate practice in problem solving is provided and home-works are given and checked on a regular basis. Regular Tests are taken from time to time to judge the progress of the student.

Let u = initial velocity of the first particle
V1, V2 ard the velocities of first and second particle respectively
θ1 & θ2 are tbe angles made by the first & second particle respectively with the original direction of U
Let u = initial velocity of the first particle
V1, V2 ard the velocities of first and second particle respectively
Equting conservation of momentum in the direction of initial direction of U, & perpendicular to it, one get,
mU + 0 = m V1 cos θ1+ m cosθ2............. i
0 + 0 = m V1 sinθ1 + m V2 sinθ2.............ii
For elastic collision kinetic energy is also conserved.
Equating i initial & final kinetic energener,
(1/2)mu2 + 0 = (1/2) mV12 + (1/2) m V22 .. Iii
& adding eqn. i, ii,
we get
U2 = V12 + V22 + 2 V1 V2 cos ( θ1 + θ2 )
This equation will be identical to eqn. iii, only when ( θ1 + θ2 ) = 90 degree.

One can cross the river in a shortest time, if one start swimming in a direction perpendicular to the river flow.
Let U = Velocity of the swimmer perpendicular to the river flow.
D= width of the river.
T = time to cross the river.
Vw= Velocity of the water.
Hence T = ( D/U)
S = Over carried distance , on the opposite bank & this distance will be away from the directly opposite to the starting point.
Where S = Vw×T
= ( D / U) T units.
