Different Strokes

I am a self taught professional artist and mentor. My compositions are more realistic style of painting. My current series of paintings -all acrylic on canvas –are based on the facial expressions and mudras of Indian classical dance especially Kathakali. The vibrant green colour of a Kathakali Dancer`s face and the brightness of his eyes fascinate me. I am also attracted to the beautiful expressions of Odissi dance. I would like to portray folk dance in future. My aim is to capture the essence and colors of India through these compositions. I love mentoring students in different form of art, may it be visual art, contemporary which includes figure study, landscape, folk, even abstract using various mediums like pencil, charcoal, water color, pastel, acrylic and oil also.
