Many times it is not knowledge on language that causes a barrier in communication. MTI or mother tongue influence can often hinder the person from communicating in English. If it is basic english communication that you are aiming at then 1. Start reading an English newspaper 2. Keep a book for writing down words which is not familiar to you and write down meanings and study these words 3. Take a topic for discussion and start debating on it in your mind. Of course, we can think a lot about topics in our mind and most often it is in the native language. Try and imagine communication in mind. This helps to fill thoughts in the English language that will flow out later on in conversations. 4. Listen to BBC news or weatch an English movie with British accent and concentrate on the pronunciations. 5. Try to talk what you have collected in your mind on a topic before a mirror in your bathroom. 6. Imagine you are in front of a crowd and talk to the imaginary crowd on a particular topic. 7. Pick friends who are interested in starting conversation in English and practicing with them 8. Join an online course if you can stick to it or join a good English communication training center near your area.

It is displayed in all our responses to situations ( thoughts, actions, feeling etc) and affects personality. Do you lack confidence to write an exam or to do an onstage performance???? Focus on the greater goal achieved out of it. Means... Why do you write this exam after all or the performance? What is the common good in it? How will you benefit, your family benefit, society benefit ??? Imagine you are taking a medical entrance exam. How are you going to impact society when you become a doctor???What impact on your family and on you??? Focus on the bigger goal and not on the exam.....just stay focused on the bigger goal and keep practicing. Results will come your way (may be not the first time but eventually it has to..remember Thomas Alva Edison took 1000 trial to make a good filament for the bulb). You have to find you identity...it takes time. Erick Erickson identifies a struggle from all people to search and identify once personal identity in family, society, school or other places. When you find your identity you will have the strength to be you yourself. For finding identity it is important have a purpose for you life. A 'Life Purpose' is the mission on which you base your life on. For example: What is the purpose of your life on earth? How can you impact: your society, life of other people, life in this country? What part can you play in this greater mission? For example: If purpose is eradicate AIDS from earth and relieve millions from the clutch of this deadly virus, then what part you can play in it. Not all can be scientist, not all can be doctors, we need teachers, campaigners, social workers, counselors, care takers for children, social awareness programs through NGOs and many more.........think what role you fit in, with your God given talents and skills...keep yourself engaged and keep focused on the greater mission (eradicate AIDS in this case)......all the while keep searching to have greater clarity on your own identity....When you see the impact you make on others you will have the confidence to continue more and serve more...
