Just to answer a common question about how long it will take to learn piano / music theory ? Short answer : 2-3 years then its a life long journey Long answer : one day for the basic scales and right hand melody, upto 2 months or 8 classes for simple songs using both hands, upto 4 months to learn important aspects like rhythm, note values, harmony, making melody, upto 6 months to learn grade 1 level songs, to know most elements of sheet music, to start making own compositions and arrangements Of-course all these varies according to age and passion to play piano As opposed to traditional method of making students learn by-heart the various scales and chords, I teach them in easily understandable techniques which will later comes handy even if the student takes a break of months or years I also use various android apps to make the learning faster and fun experience, being a music composer, I can teach all aspects of music making including creating great sounding melodies, providing harmony on a solid rhythmic arena I can teach almost all genres for music for production course, and can teach trinity college london syllabus for piano classes, though I have seen from my production students, getting trinity grades doesn't guarantee solid understanding on all aspects of music and that's the void I want to close down with my piano classes, All that being said I enjoy teaching music and I feel accomplished when my students learn faster and in a fun way and the experience with music will partly add to their individuality in a nice way.
