Top National Level Engineering Entrance Exams
- Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) - It is a national level engineering entrance exam conducted for selecting students for various engineering colleges in India. JEE has two exams - JEE Main and JEE Advanced. In 2012, JEE has replaced AIEEE and IIT-JEE. The JEE Main Exam is for taking admission to the NITs (National Institutes of Technology), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and some other centrally funded technical institutes (CFTIs). Students will be eligible to sit for JEE Advanced Exam only when they clear the JEE Main. JEE Advanced is for taking admission to Indian Institutes of Technology. Top engineering institutes in India use JEE score as the basis for students selection. JEE is one of the most prestigious engineering entrance exams in India.
- Birla Institute of Technology and Science Aptitude Test (BITSAT) - It is a national level computerised entrance exam conducted by BITS Pilani. BITSAT is a three-hour duration test with objective-type multiple choice questions divided into four sections - Physics, Chemistry, English Proficiency, and Logical Reasoning & Mathematics. - VITEEE - It is an engineering entrance exam conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology, a private deemed university. VITEEE is an online entrance exam which lasts for 2 hr and 30 minutes. The entrance test has four sections - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English. Each of the sections will have 40 multiple choice questions except English which will have 5 questions. A total of 125 questions will be asked in the VITEEE. There is no negative marking for giving the wrong answer. Students looking to take up B.Tech Biotechnology have to opt for Biology in place of Mathematics.

- Assam CEE - It is a state level exam which a student can take up to take admission in various Engineering institutes in Assam. Assam CEE is conducted once in a year.
- AP EAMCET - Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test is an entrance exam required for admission to some engineering and medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
- CG PET - Chhattisgarh Pre Engineering Test is an offline mode of exam for admission to B.Tech programmes offered by the engineering institutes in Chhattisgarh.
- KCET - Karnataka Common Entrance Test is an entrance exam conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admissions to various engineering and medical programs in the state of Karnataka.
