The total number of electrons will be 10 because,
K shell is the frst shell near to nucleus which can have only 2 electrons.
L shell is the second shell grom the nucleus which can have maximum 8 electron thus total we have 10.
The total number of electrons in a shell given by 2(n)² where n = the number asigned to shell like K will be 1, L will be 2, M will be 3 etc
Eg Electrons for M shell
n= 3
2(n)²
2(3)² = 18 electrons

Charge on an atom is always neutral it will never depend upon the number of proton( which resides inside nucleus) and electrons( which revolve round the orbit) as you all know that each and every atom has number of proton equals to number of electron and by law a positive and negative cancels each other.. thus we have an atom as a whole as neutral in nature.

Basiaclly you can apply two techniques like;
1. Distillation: because salt has got a much higher boiling point than water so you can use distillation for this.
2. Evaporation: as water will boil off and change into steam leaving salt particles behind. Disadvantage of this process is that this is a slower process compared to distillation.
