There are 2 important reasons for this : 1) Historically JS was not that Good: Javascript was not meant to be full-fledged language initially. It was supposed to be used in the browser for some fancy animations and handle browser/device events. After release of chrome with V8 engine and subsequent development of NodeJs backend system made JS available, everywhere not just browser. Most of the open source community jumped into creating frameworks and libraries of JS - and JS revolution happened. Before that, it was not considered as a powerful language. JS also had some inherent problems due to weakly typed nature and less rigid rules of programming - which made are good for a beginner but the nightmare of enterprise software (because of bugs which can come up). Now things have changed ES6/ES7 recommendation have made it much better. Also, it is becoming a universal language which can be used in everywhere - even IoT community is accepting Node as the main tool. 2) People are scared by this: Those developers who have worked on a traditional programming language for years can't accept that a language which was so weak became the main powerhouse of internet and software industry. JS developers are getting big jobs if they show the expertise. Take an example, how would you feel if somebody says Photoshop designer says that Photoshop has become a most important tool for the web. development and no need for programmer anymore.
