Drumming can benefit us in a lot of good ways. Apart from being an excellent physical exercise and a fabulous stress buster, drumming can help you learn some very vital skills both physically and mentally. Since we know that drumming involves 2 to 4 limbs(all sorts of drums from traditional, cultural to famous) and many many percussive extensions; it allows us the opportunity to develop our limb co-ordination and independency, complex limb control, hand-eye coordination, pulse keeping, time.

Also, its fragmentation in beats heightens mental capability of handling complex neural signals of limb movement. Also, it is an excellent cardiovascular exercise to keep our heart and blood circulation on point.

Actually the fact is, strumming itself isn't difficult. There can be a number of reasons why one can find it difficult at first, but eventually it comes naturally. The factors that effect the ease and comfort with strumming patterns are

1 Player's aptitude towards rhythms and pulse

2 Level of understanding of beats and and time concepts

3 Player's strumming hand efficiency and the grip of the plectrum

4 Right posture and attack angle of plectrum

5 Natural pulse keeping ability

In spite of all these factors generally all the begginers face trouble while singing and strumming at the same time due to unfamiliarity with the instrument whicch is the sole reason of inability to focus on both strumming and voicing chords or fretting notes simultaneously.
